New
Thermal Imaging Software
Proves Powerful and Friendly
ANN
ARBOR, MI March 16, 2009 - Ann Arbor Sensor
Systems, LLC, a manufacturer focused on affordable thermal
imaging, has recently announced NEXUS, a new addition
to their thermal imaging software arsenal. The AXT100
Thermal Imaging Camera is the company's low-cost flagship
product, and NEXUS is poised to maximize the power and
versatility of the TCP/IP based device.
"Our
goal was to design a low-cost answer to temperature
measurement in the form of a thermal imaging camera
that woud be well suited for industrial automation and
process control, as well as laboratory and educational
use," said David Kryskowski, director of the Michigan-based
company. "The AXT100 Thermal Imaging Camera proved
to be that answer," he continued. NEXUS has become
the new software companion for the camera.
"The
power of NEXUS lies in its simplicity," explained
Justin Renken, author of the software. "What you're
able to accomplish with this software is suprising.
There are no File/Edit/View menus to get lost in. The
manual is 20 pages long, not 200." Still, he continued,
users will enjoy custom regions of interest, custom
line profiles, and intellegent streaming to the hard
drive.
Some
of the other features of the software include instant
time analysis of temperature data, custom color palettes,
scheduling, and running multiple instances to view many
cameras on one PC. "Create regions any way you
want, there are no shapes- you paint them yourself,"
Renken said. "There's even a smart region that
will give you statistics even as your target moves around."
Data
output is smart and easy. "The main goal of NEXUS
is to compress a complex matrix of data into a simple
set of data that answers the question you had at the
beginning," Renken concluded. "Build custom
text files with only the data that you want. Record
data only when you want. NEXUS understands that you
want the data you need, and you don't want the data
you don't need. This software is easy to understand
and use, and will give you options you thought to be
too complicated to consider."
The
AXT100 currently ships to the tune of approximately
$5000 US, but, surprisingly, NEXUS adds no additional
cost. More information can be obtained over the phone
