Modbus-IDA Protocol. AXT fixed-mount thermal imaging products are compatible with the Modbus protocol. This TCP/IP protocol is standard for communication between PLCs and sensors on the factory floor.

This diagram depicts a network of devices using Modbus to automate a process. Modbus simplifies network administration by allowing devices to find common ground over Ethernet. The Advantech ADAM-6060 I/O Module (pictured in the diagram) allows any non-Ethernet enabled PLC to detect alarm status.

Universal Plug 'n' Play. All AXT thermal imaging products have the capability to be recognized by UPnP. When a connection is established, UPnP allows easy access via an icon in My Network Places (for WinXP). UPnP is especially handy when working with DHCP (dynamic IP addresses).  LabVIEW Integration. AXT fixed-mount thermal imaging products make it easy for users to harvest data and manipulate it in a LabVIEW application. An included LabVIEW driver will stream live thermal data into a LabVIEW application. The AXT LabVIEW Interface is the included application (LabVIEW not required).

Power-over-Ethernet. AXT fixed-mount thermal imaging products are equipped with PoE (IEEE 802.3af). PoE delivers power to a PoE-ready device through the Ethernet connection rather than a standard DC power connection. With no extra power lines needed, PoE makes network installation more cost-effective. Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. All AXT thermal imaging products work with DHCP servers. DHCP manages the issuance of IP address to all devices in a network. DHCP simplifies a network that uses a large number of devices. DHCP in conjunction with UPnP makes network administration more managable.
